overcoil hairspring. English double roller lever escapement. Screwed in jewelling, escape and lever pivots with endstones. White enamel dial with subsidiaries for seconds, day of the week and month. Pivoted at the centre the retrograde hand for the date which advances every day until the last day of the month (28th, 29th, 30th or 31st as appropriate) is reached when it flies back to the first. Roman numerals, gold date hand, blue steel hands.
Substantial plain 18 carat open face case, recessed buttons in the band to advance the day and the date. Gold cuvette with winding apertures to allow the use of a key if desired. Maker's mark "AS" in an oval.
