Index No. A8833 Silver Fusee Lever with 30 Tooth Escape Wheel
A mid 19th Century English fusee lever with thirty tooth escape wheel in a silver open face case.  Full plate gilt keywind fusee movement with gilt dust cover.  Harrison's maintaining power. Plain cock, plain three arm steel balance with blue steel spiral hairspring, blue steel Bosley regulator.  English table roller lever escapement with thirty tooth escape wheel.  White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds rotating one revolution every fifteen seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands.  Engine turned silver open face case with engine turned middle, maker's mark "GH".
Anonymous English
Hallmarked London 1853
Diameter 50 mm
It is unusual for watches to have 30 tooth escape wheels.  The seconds hand is mounted on the escape wheel arbor and so rotates once every 15 seconds.  However it would seem that a special dial was not ordered for the watch, the seconds still being marked up to sixty.
