| A fine watch stand in remarkable condition considering its delicacy. Sadeli is a form of marquetry work most commonly associated with the Surat district of India. Ivory, ebony, sandalwood, redwood and various metals are cut into minute pieces and shaped into geometrical patterns. The pieces are then glued together and glued onto the surface, producing an effect similar to inlay work. |
