| A large late 18th Century pocket thermometer in a silver open face case. Plain gilt plate with a large bimetallic "U" shaped strip acting on a light sector brass rack. This acts on a central steel pinion held in tension by a blue steel spiral hairspring. Signed white enamel dial marked from minus 20 degrees, "Degres du froid", to 55 degrees, "Degres du chaud". Gilt zero by the pendant marked "Glace", blue steel hand. Slim plain silver open face case. | ||
