Engraved gilt dial with subsidiary seconds, Arabic numerals on circular white enamel cartouches, white enamel minute ring, pierced blue steel hands. Unusual 14 carat open face case, the back in repousse style resembling 18th Century pair cased watches but made by chasing and engraving a casting. The scene depicts three women on and around a bull lying on the ground. Above are cherubs and a bird all within a rococo border which is signed
"Wittenaur" on one of the scrolls. Plain gold cuvette, maker's mark "AW" in an oval.
