Index No. A8123 Rare Underpainted Horn Silver Pair Case
An 18th Century English verge in underpainted horn and silver pair cases with rare coat of arms.  Full plate fire gilt movement with square baluster pillars.  Pierced and engraved cock, diamond endstone, silver regulator disc.  Fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates.  Plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring.  White enamel dial with Roman numerals, later gilt hands.  Plain silver inner case.  Rare outer case of underpainted horn depicting a coat of arms with a suited hand above holding a sword.  Silver bezels and pique pins.

The subject on the outer case is very rare and still in fine condition with only a few of the pins lacking.  The inner possibly a replacement as it is not as deep as the outer.
