A fine late 18th Century English verge in gilt metal underpainted horn pair cases.  Full plate fire gilt fusee movement with round pillars.  Pierced and engraved cock, silver regulator disc.  Plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring.  Fine white enamel dial with Roman numerals, gold hands.  Gilt metal pair cases, the outer covered in horn underpainted with ferns and a central butterfly, gilt pique pins.

In outstanding overall condition.  The horn almost unmarked.  It is unusual for a movement to bear a date rather than a serial number.
