Index No. A8227 Gold and Enamel English Cylinder
A late 18th Century English cylinder in a fine pearl set gold and enamel case.  Full plate gilt keywind fusee movement.  Engraved cock with diamond endstone, small blue steel regulator, plain three arm polished steel balance with blue steel spiral hairspring.  Polished steel cylinder, large brass escape wheel.  Engine turned gold dial with decoratively engraved centre, applied gold Roman numerals, blue steel hands.  Fine gold and enamel consular case, the bezels decorated with a thin band of white enamel and a band of light blue translucent enamel over an engine turned ground.  The back covered in light blue translucent enamel over a decoratively engine turned ground and bordered by a row of large split pearls.  Signed gilt metal cuvette, the apertures marked "Wind up" and "Set hands".
