Index No. A7945 Keyless Fusee Chronometer with Up / Down
A late 19th Century English keyless fusee chronometer with power reserve indication in a gold full hunter case.  Gilt three quarter plate keyless movement with later engraved "16th August 1925 Donald S Lark".  Fusee and chain, Harrison's maintaining power. Plain cock with diamond endstone, compensation balance employing quarter timing nuts, freesprung helical blue steel hairspring. Earnshaw spring detent chronometer escapement, escape pivots with endstones.  White enamel dial with subsidiaries for power reserve and seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Plain 18 carat full hunter, apertures in the gold cuvette to allow the use of a key to wind and set, maker's mark "AS" in an oval.

An interesting watch which unusually has been signed for a later owner.  Its high quality is complemented by being cased by Alfred Stram who was used by the most eminent watchmakers of the late 19th Century.
