An early 20th Century English freesprung centre seconds lever watch in a silver case and mahogany deck box.  Gilt three quarter plate keyless movement with going barrel. Plain cock with compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. Club foot lever escapement, screwed in jewelling, escape and lever pivots with endstones. White enamel dial with centre seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands.  Plain silver open face case, flat crystal glass, maker's mark "WB" in a rectangle.  Three tier mahogany case with brass furniture.
SignedF H Baird    Xmas 1917
Hallmarked London 1916
Diameter 53 mm
A good late example of an English deck watch unusually with a club foot lever.  The movement being engraved Xmas 1917 is also a little odd.
