Index No. A7846 Gold Cylinder by Mudge and Dutton
A fine 18th Century English cylinder by Mudge and Dutton in 22 carat gold pair cases.  Full plate fire gilt movement with signed gilt dust cover, square baluster pillars.  Pierced and engraved masked cock, diamond endstone in a polished steel setting, silver regulator disc. Fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates. Plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring. Polished steel cylinder, banking pin in the lower section of the cylinder, large brass escape wheel. White enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, blue steel beetle and poker hands.  Matching 22 carat pair cases, gold pendant with applied decoration to the top, maker's mark "PM".
