Index No. A7410 Gold Lepine Calibre Lever
A 19th Century Lepine calibre lever in a gold open face case.  Keywind gilt Lepine calibre bar movement. Signed and numbered suspended going barrel, polished steel Geneva stopwork partly under a gilt cover.  Plain cock with polished steel regulator, garnet endstone. Plain three arm gold balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. English table roller lever escapement, escape wheel pivots with endstones.  Gold engine turned dial with subsidiary seconds, applied Roman numerals on a matted ground, blue steel seconds hand, gold fleur-de-lys hands.  Engine turned 18 carat open face case with vacant circular cartouche on the back, reeded middle.   Wound through the signed and numbered gold cuvette.  Number corresponding to that on the movement, maker's mark "TW", additionally "IMC" and "R".

This design of movement was never popular with English makers.  Viner frequently employed it, mostly with his pull winding mechanism.  Possibly a conversion from duplex.  Unusually the cuvette is also signed and numbered.
