Index No. A7631 Gold Minute Repeating Duplex by McCabe
A rare 19th Century English minute repeating duplex by McCabe in a gold half hunter case.  Gilt three quarter plate keywind movement with fusee and chain, the barrel under a separate bridge with polished steel ratchet and spring. Harrison's maintaining power. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, diamond endstone. Compensation balance with blue steel spiral hairspring.  Duplex escapement, brass escape wheel, pivots with endstones. Slide minute repeating on two polished steel gongs. Signed and numbered white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel seconds hand, gold hands. Engine turned 18 carat half hunter case with blue enamel chapter ring, ribbed middle, monogram on the back cover.  Recessed slide in the band for the minute repeat, wound and set through the gold cuvette.  Maker's mark "AS" in a rectangle and "IMC", number corresponding to that on the movement.
