Index No. A7331 Unusual Quarter Striking Clockwatch
A large unusual early 19th Century grande sonnerie clockwatch repeater in a silver case.  Gilt keywind movement with going barrel and two suspended going barrels for the striking trains, Geneva stopwork. Plain cock with blue steel regulator, plain three arm steel balance with blue steel spiral hairspring.  Polished steel cylinder, steel escape wheel. Grande sonnerie quarter striking, the quarters struck first powered by one train, followed by the hours powered by another.  Two polished steel hammers and blue steel gongs.  Push button in the pendant to release the strike train.  Gilt engine turned dial with Roman numerals, blue steel hands.  Plain silver case, the back now replaced by a glass to allow the movement to be viewed.
