Daniel Delander was an eminent maker of the period.  Apprenticed in 1692 he was free of the Clockmakers Company in 1699 and died in 1733.  He succeeded his father Nathaniel, another fine watchmaker who also made watch cases for the best London makers of the late 17th Century.  The repeat mechanism of this watch is unusual in having a star wheel to control the half quarter snail.
