Index No. A7231 Gold Quarter Repeating Musical
A fine early 19th Century quarter repeating musical watch with attractive gold dial in a gold open face case.  Unusual calibre gilt movement with large resting barrel providing the power for the musical train.  Small going barrel , plain sector cock, polished steel coqueret and regulator, plain gilt balance with spiral spring, polished steel cylinder, steel escape wheel.  Pendant quarter repeating on two steel gongs, the repeating work situated under the dial.  Small gold button in the band to actuate the musical mechanism and a lateral polished steel lever to allow the music to play automatically on the hour.  Fine signed gold dial, the centre attractively engraved with a scene of two couples dancing in a wooded glade.  Roman  numerals, blue steel Breguet hands.  Plain gold open face case, ribbed middle, signed gilt cuvette with apertures for winding and hand set.
