| A rare late 17th Century English clockwatch in gilt metal pair cases. Deep full plate fire gilt movement with two elaborate pierced pillars and three turned baluster pillars. Fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates. Pierced and engraved winged cock an aperture to allow
the fusee to be wound . The table decorated with two birds, pierced and engraved foot. Plain steel balance, the arms shaped to avoid the fusee square, silver regulator disc. Hour striking on a bell in the back of the case. Resting barrel engraved with a depiction of the White Tower, blue steel stopwork and spring visible on the plate. Brass count wheel to the strike unusually situated under the dial. Silver champleve dial with Roman and
Arabic numerals, the centre again decorated with two engraved birds. Blue steel beetle and poker hands. The reverse of the gilt freestanding dial plate engraved at the edge, bayonet fit secured by a blue steel latch. Purpose made gilt metal pair cases pieced and engraved to allow the bell to sound clearly.
