Index No. A7129 Polychrome Dial Silver French Verge
A late 18th Century French verge with polychrome enamel painted dial in a silver consular case.  Full plate gilt fusee movement.  Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring.  Silver regulator dial with blue steel indicator.  Pentagonal baluster pillars. Winding through the white enamel dial, a polychrome scene at its centre depicting a woman holding a triangle and plumb in her right hand and the sun on her left palm.  In front of her a pillar bearing the letter "J"  surmounted by the crescent moon. Arabic numerals, gilt hands. Plain drum shaped silver consular case, maker's mark "CG" in a diamond.
