Index No. A7042 Early Quarter Repeating Dutch Verge
An early 18th Century half quarter repeating Dutch verge with silver champleve dial in silver pair cases.  Deep full plate fire gilt movement with four Egyptian and one turned pillar.  Fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates. Pierced and engraved winged cock with additional steady foot below which is engraved a mask.   Pierced and engraved foot and plate for the silver regulator disc.  Plain steel balance.  Push pendant half quarter repeating on a bell in the back of the case, steel pulse piece.  Signed silver champleve dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, deep engraved gilt dial plate, blue steel beetle and poker hands.  Richly pierced and engraved silver pair cases, the back of the outer decorated with a faded engraved coat of arms.
