| A late 18th Century Austrian explorers pocket thermometer in a silver open face case. Plain brass plate with a large bimetallic circular strip at its edge acting on a brass rack. This acts on a central brass pinion held in tension by a blue steel spiral hairspring. Signed white enamel dial marked from minus 30 degrees to 130 degrees, the scale indicated as "Eispunct - Reaumur - Siedpunct". Slender blue steel hand. Slim plain silver open face case. | ||
