an Indian Maharaja. Keyless gilt bar movement with going barrel. Plain
cock with polished steel regulator. Compensation balance with blue steel spiral
hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. Fully jewelled going and repeating
trains including the hammer pivots. Slide minute repeating on two
polished steel gongs. White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman
numerals, blue steel hands. Full hunter 18 carat frosted gold case with bright
cut engraving to the edge of the covers. The front cover decorated with a
polychrome enamel portrait of His Highness the Maharaja of Patiala, Sir
Bhupinda Singh. On the back a polychrome enamel coat of arms surmounted
by an elephant, the motto "Heavens Light Our Guide" in blue enamel
below. Black morocco covered fitted case with buff velvet lining marked
