Index No. A6723 Gold Minute Repeating Lever
A fine late 19th Century minute repeating lever in a gold open face case.  Gilt three quarter plate keyless movement, going barrel with polished steel wolf's teeth winding work. Engraved cock with polished steel regulator, diamond endstone. Compensation balance with quarter timing nuts, blue steel overcoil hairspring. English table roller lever escapement.  Slide minute repeating on two polished steel gongs.  White enamel dial unusually signed and numbered in the subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Substantial plain 18 carat open face case, recessed gold slide in the band, maker's mark "JW" in an oval.  Signed gold cuvette with coat of arms and "Makers to the Royal Observatory".
