Index No. A6627 Gold and Enamel Quarter Repeating Verge
A late 18th Century French quarter repeating verge in a gold and enamel consular case.  Full plate gilt fusee movement.  Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring.  Silver regulator dial with blue steel indicator.  Push pendant quarter repeating on a bell in the back of the case.  Wound through the convex white enamel dial, Arabic numerals, gold beetle and poker hands. Fine gold and enamel consular case, the sprung bezel unusually opened by twisting the gold push pendant.  The matted gold back with applied gold work decorated with green enamel and small split pearls.  Discretely pieced at the edge to allow the bell to sound clearly.   The front bezel set with a single row of split pearls.
