The monogram on the watch is probably for Colonel William Parsons (1658 - 1723) who published a book of ciphers in Carlisle1703 and London in 1704.  His own CWP monogram is seen on other watches with similar dials.  One of these was in the Hornby collection and one is in Leeds Castle, Kent.
