| A fine large late 19th Century English keyless fusee chronometer with power reserve indication by Kullberg in a gold open face case. Gilt half plate keyless movement with reverse fusee and chain. Harrison's maintaining power. Plain cock with diamond endstone. Compensation balance employing
quarter timing nuts, freesprung helical blue steel hairspring. Earnshaw type spring detent escapement, escape pivots with endstones. Very unusual sprung polished steel bar which is held down by the foot of the cock. When the balance cock is removed it is released and engages with the third wheel, locking the train. This avoids any major accident that might occur by the detent being released when the balance is removed. Signed and numbered white
enamel dial with subsidiaries for power reserve and seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Substantial large plain 18 carat open face case, maker's mark "FT" in an oval. To wind the watch the pin in the band must be depressed and to set the hands a lever under the back cover. Accompanied by a photograph of the page from Kullberg's records showing the workmen employed and prices charged.
