Index No. A6310 Gold Chronograph by Patek Philippe
A late 19th Century Swiss lever chronograph by Patek Philippe in a gold open face case with certificate.  Keyless gilt going barrel movement with grained steel flyback chronograph work.  Plain cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. Club foot lever escapement.  White enamel dial, the signature a little faded, Roman and Arabic numerals. Centre seconds flyback chronograph and continuous subsidiary seconds, gilt seconds hand, blue steel hands.  Substantial plain 18 carat open face case, Button in the crown to operate the chronograph can be locked by a slide in the band.  Gold cuvette engraved with the name of the Buenos Aires retailer, Patek maker's mark in a rectangle. Accompanied by a maroon Patek pouch and certificate from the Patek Philippe archives showing the watch manufactured in 1900 and sold in November 1901.

A fine watch in excellent condition.  Chronograph watches by Patek Philippe are not common.  Interestingly the certificate erroneously notes the watch has an engine turned back.
