Index No. A6213 Keyless Fusee with up/down Dial
A fine late 19th Century English freesprung keyless fusee lever with power reserve indication in a gold half hunter case.  Gilt half plate keyless movement with reversed fusee and chain. Harrison's maintaining power. Plain cock with diamond endstone. Compensation balance with freesprung blue steel overcoil hairspring. English double roller lever escapement.  Screwed in jewelling, escape and lever pivots with endstones under a bridge.  Signed white enamel dial with subsidiaries for seconds and power reserve, Roman numerals, blue steel hands.  Substantial plain 18 carat half hunter case with blue enamel chapter ring.  Front cover opened by two flysprings, the winding crown disabled when it is closed.  Gold cuvette with apertures for hand set and winding by key if so desired, maker's mark "EW" in a rectangle.

A very fine example of late 19th Century English watchmaking.  The reversed keyless fusee and bridge to the escape wheel and lever suggest the movement was supplied by Kullberg.
