The movement ebauche's  continental origins are evident from the markings on the regulator.  However it was almost certainly fitted with the escapement and finished in England from the use of a spring detent.  The movement would have been fitted out  for military use as part of a scheme to quickly provide enough accurate timekeepers in the early years of the war.
