| A late 19th Century English fusee lever chronograph in a gold case with rare stop button in the pendant. Gilt three quarter plate keywind movement with fusee and chain. Harrison's maintaining power. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. English table roller lever escapement. Off white enamel dial with centre seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Plain 18 carat open face case, maker's mark "JR" in a diamond and number corresponding to that on the movement. The stop mechanism actuated by a button in the pendant. | ||

| English centre seconds fusee lever chronographs of the period normally have a stop slide in the band which is not easy to use. This watch is rare in that it is stopped by pressing a button in the pendant and started again by pressing it a second time. Unlike Swiss flyback chronographs this stops the watch entirely rather than just the centre seconds hand. |
