| Index No. A6004 | Heavy Silver Pair Cased Verge |
| An early 19th Century English verge in substantial silver pair cases. Full plate fusee movement with round pillars. Pierced and engraved round cock, steel regulator on top plate below the plain three arm steel balance. Attractive white enamel dial with radially set Arabic numerals, gold hands. Very substantial silver pair cases, silver oval pendant and bow, maker's mark "BN" in a rectangle with an "S" in script below. | ||
| Signed | Thos Ollive Cranbrook | |
| Condition | Hallmarked London | 1825 |
| Case | Excellent. | ||
| Dial | Excellent. | Diameter | 59 mm |
| Movement | Excellent. | Depth | 16 mm |
| Strangely the cases bear two different date letters. The outer case is marked for 1823 while the inner is marked 1825. It is difficult to know why this might have happened. Sometimes watches are found where a replacement outer case has been made due to loss or damage but here the outer is earlier than the inner! |
