| A very attractive and rare movement. Surprisingly few watches were made with glazed sides. Their use allows the mechanism to be protected from dust and the probing fingers of their owners while still allowing it to be viewed. The fine mid 18th Century purpose made dial and case provides an opportunity to buy an example at reduced cost. Maurice Smith, Royal Exchange - apprenticed 1694, free of the Clockmakers Company 1702. |
