Index No. A5577 Centre Seconds Karrusel Deck Watch
A fine large late 19th Century English freesprung centre seconds karrusel in a silver case and deck box.  Gilt half plate keyless movement with going barrel, large broad ministry arrow engraved on the plate.  Karrusel carriage, fine teeth at its edge, rotating once every 35 minutes.  Plain cock with garnet endstone.  Unusual compensation balance, the rim split some distance from the arms, freesprung blue steel overcoil hairspring.  English lever escapement, screwed in jewelling, escape and lever pivots with endstones.   White enamel centre seconds dial, signed, numbered and marked with the broad ministry arrow, Roman numerals, blue steel hands.  Substantial plain silver open face case with gilt winding button, maker's mark "JF" and numbered "615".  Three tier mahogany deck box with brass holder for the watch with glazed screw bezel.  The top lid now secured to the middle by four screws.
