Index No. A5505 Gold Independent Seconds Lever
A 19th Century Swiss lever with independent centre seconds in a gold open face case. Good quality keywind gilt bar movement with two suspended going barrels, the larger for the going train. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with spiral hairspring. Club foot straight line lever escapement, escape and lever pivots with endstones in gold settings. Signed white enamel dial with independent jump centre seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel seconds hand, gold hands. Engine turned 18 carat open face case with coin edge middle, small gold slide for the independent centre seconds. Wound and set through the engine turned gold cuvette inscribed with details of the watch.

MovementExcellent.
Few watches seem to have been retailed in Belgium. The fading of the marking on the dial is odd. They do no appear to have been rubbed. Perhaps the dial was painted in Belgium or the watch spent many years exposed to strong sunlight.
