Index No. A5424 Gold Repousse Scottish Verge
A mid 18th Century Scottish verge in gold repousse pair cases. Full plate fire gilt movement with square baluster pillars. Pierced and engraved masked cock, diamond endstone, silver regulator disc. Fine going train with six spoke crossings and pinions of eight leaves. Fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates. Plain three arm gilt balance, blue steel spiral hairspring. Unusual domed white enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, later gold hands. Plain gold inner case, maker's mark "TL", decorative pendant with stirrup bow. Gold outer decorated with chased and engraved repousse work depicting a classical scene within a rococo border.
