Index No. A5365 Early Automatic Wristwatch
An early 20th Century Swiss automatic lever wristwatch in a rolled gold case. Nickelled split three quarter plate automatic movement with going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, uncut bimetallic balance with spiral hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. Oscillating weight pivoted at the centre moves to and fro around the movement stopped by spring buffers. It winds the watch in one direction only and is marked "Automatic - Swiss made - 15 Jewels two Adj". Silvered dial with line engine turned centre, subsidiary seconds, luminous Arabic numerals and hands. Elongated octagonal gold filled wristwatch case. The hinge back curved to fit the wrist, brown crocodile skin strap.
