An unusual 19th Century Swiss lever in a gold engine turned open face case. Keywind gilt Lepine calibre movement with suspended going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. High quality right angle lever escapement with double roller and triangular impulse jewel. Delicate polished steel escape wheel, lever pivots with endstones. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, pierced gilt hands. Slim engine turned 18 carat open face case with ribbed middle, maker's mark "SG" in an oval. Decoratively engine turned and engraved signed gold cuvette giving details of the movement.
