Index No. A5224 Gold and Enamel English Verge
A late 18th Century English verge in a gold and enamel consular case depicting a member of the Russian royal family. Full plate fire gilt movement with square baluster pillars. Pierced and engraved cock, silver regulator disc. Plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring. Winding through the fully restored white enamel dial, Roman and Arabic numerals, later gilt hands. Gold and enamel consular case, the bezels decorated with white, green and translucent red enamel. An oval in the back painted in polychrome enamel with a member of the Russian royal family within a border of white enamel faux pearls and purple and green translucent enamel. Maker's mark "RP".
