Index No. A5226 Silver Calendar Verge With Visible Balance
An early 19th Century Swiss verge with calendar and visible balance in a silver open face case. Full plate gilt keywind fusee movement, the solid engraved back with markings for the regulator. The table of the cock visible through a circular aperture in the dial, polished steel coqueret with large garnet endstone. Plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Engine turned and engraved silver mask with three white enamel subsidiary dials. One for time with Roman and Arabic numerals, the other two for day and date calendar. Gilt hands. Plain silver open face case, a broad copper coloured band in the front bezel forming a border to the dial.
