| An unusual late 17th Century French single handed verge with decorative enamelled cock in a double sided shagreen covered gilt case. Very deep full plate fire gilt movement with Egyptian pillars. Fusee and chain, the watch wound by turning the square at the centre of the dial. Unusual bridge cock with a fine
polychrome enamel portrait of a lady. Small circular affixes on the balance can be seen moving to and fro through four slots around the portrait as the watch runs. Steel regulator at the edge of the balance cock. Engraved gilt dial with white enamel cartouches for the black Roman numerals, single gilt hand painted black. Consular case glazed on both sides, both front and back covers opening from a single hinge. The bezels recently recovered with shagreen, later affixes to
open the bezels.
