An early 18th Century English verge with gold champleve dial in a gold consular case covered in shagreen. Deep full plate fire gilt movement with pierced tulip pillars. Fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates. Pierced and engraved winged cock with pierced and engraved foot. Plain steel balance, silver regulator disc. Blue steel case latch spring. Winding through the signed gold champleve Roman and Arabic numerals, blue steel beetle and poker hands. Fine gold consular case covered in shagreen, gold swivel pendant and stirrup bow, seven joint hinge.

Quare was an eminent maker and the watch is in truly outstanding condition for the period. The shagreen covering has been applied recently without using pique work.
