Two going barrels, one for the going train and the other for the independent seconds. Unusually both trains are wound by the crown
turning in the same direction. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. Club foot lever escapement, escape and lever pivots with endstones in gold settings. Signed white enamel dial with jumping quarter subsidiary seconds, split centre seconds, the markings at the edge. The minute marking set inside the independent seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands, blue steel and gilt centre seconds hands. American engine
turned gold full hunter case with ribbed middle, the buttons to operate the independent seconds train and split seconds in the band. Dedication dated 1881 on the gold cuvette and "Chronograph" in elaborate semi-circular border.
