A late 19th Century English lever with independent seconds in a gold open face case. Gilt three quarter plate keywind movement with two going barrel. Engraved cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. English table roller lever escapement. Screwed in jewelling to both the going and independent seconds trains, escape and lever pivots with endstones. White enamel dial with independent centre seconds, the hand beating seconds. Continuously running subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel fleur-dis-lis hands. Plain 18 carat open face case, the movement wound and set through the gold cuvette. Gold slide in the band for the independent centre seconds, maker's mark "CB" in an oval.
