Index No. A5111 English Centre Seconds Gold Hunter
A fine large late 19th Century English centre seconds lever in a gold full hunter case. Spotted three quarter plate keyless movement with going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, garnet endstone. Compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring, English table roller lever escapement. Screwed in jewelling, escape and lever pivots with endstones. White enamel dial with centre seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel seconds hand, gilt hands. Substantial plain 18 carat full hunter case, lateral gold lever in the band to stop the balance. Dedication engraved on the gold cuvette: "From Miss Georgina Blair to The Rev Harvey Nichol MABD July 1895". Maker's mark "JW" in an oval and number corresponding to that on the movement.
