Index No. A4914 Gold American Lever with Box Hinges
A 19th Century American lever in a gold open face case with box hinges. Nickelled three quarter plate keyless movement with going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel micrometer regulator, compensation balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. Screwed in jewelling in elaborate gold settings. Signed white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Plain 14 carat case with box hinges, engraved bezels and middle. Originally intended as a hunter case with sprung hinged glazed front bezel.
