Index No. A4805 Silver French Verge
A mid 18th Century French verge in a silver consular case. Full plate gilt movement with square baluster pillars. Fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates. Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, garnet endstone, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Silver regulator dial with blue steel indicator. Round pillars. Winding through the purpose made white enamel dial with Arabic numerals, gilt hands. Purpose made plain silver consular case.

The movement dates from a period where surprisingly few French watches seem to have survived. The case and dial were replaced around 1800. Probably Noel Baltazar circa 1760.
