Clip on white enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals in 18th Century style, pierced gilt hands. Three colour gold consular case, the engine turned back decorated with an applied gold scene in an oval cartouche. The pendant of the watch replaced by a later one which is rotated to wind and set the watch.
SignedLe Coultre & Co
ConditionCirca 1780
CaseExcellent.
DialExcellent apart from a very small chip at the centre. Diameter 38 mm
MovementExcellent.
An interesting conversion allowing a decorative case to have an extended life by replacing the movement with a 19th Century keyless Swiss cylinder. To avoid detracting from the design a pendant similar to the original has been used in place of a winding crown.
