Index No. A4832 Painted Dial Silver Repousse Pair Cased Verge
A late 18th Century English verge with polychrome enamel dial in silver repousse pair cases. Full plate fire gilt movement with square baluster pillars. Pierced and engraved cock, silver regulator disc. Fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates. Plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring. Fine polychrome enamel dial, the scene depicting hunters and fishermen in a band around the white enamel chapter of Roman and Arabic numerals. Decorative pierced gilt hands. Silver pair cases, the outer decorated with chased and engraved repousse work of four classical figures within a rococo frame. Plain silver inner case, later bow, maker's mark "NP".
