Due to their delicate nature hard stone was very rarely used as a material for watch cases. It is even more unusual to find a single piece used as the main part of the case and for it to be carved and decorated in relief rather than just polished. It is remarkable this has survived in such fine condition. Abraham Amarbric, Geneve, 1760-88.
