Index No. A4928 Gold and Enamel Austrian Cylinder
An 18th Century Austrian cylinder in a fine pearl set gold and enamel case. Full plate gilt movement with resting barrel and dust ring. Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with diamond endstone, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Silver regulator dial with blue steel indicator. Round pillars. Polished steel cylinder, large brass escape wheel. Winding through the signed white enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, paste set pierced hands. Fine gold consular case, the bezels set with split pearls, the back of translucent blue enamel over an engine turned ground decorated with gilt stars. The sprung front bezel opened by depressing a button in the pendant.
