Index No. A4830 Danish Gold Repousse Verge
A rare mid 18th Century Danish verge in gold repousse pair cases. Full plate gilt fusee movement. Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Silver regulator disc, square baluster pillars. Signed white enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, fine pierced gold hands. Gold pair cases, the outer decorated with chased and engraved repousse work depicting a number of classical figures within a rococo frame. Plain gold inner case, maker's mark "VSE" below a crown.
